Monitor Resolution Per Size

Hello
Should I buy a 1440p Monitor if I know I am getting a 27 inch monitor. I set about 3 feet away when working, about 15 feet when watch moive,shows etc.

I would look at 40" tvs are pretty reasonable and if has good refresh rates doubles as pc monitor.
