Monitor response time questions

I'm trying to find a monitor for gaming. I currently have a 5ms 60hz monitor. What I'm wondering is do I want more hz like a 120hz monitor to be able to see more FPS, or a 2ms monitor? Or do I need to have a 2ms 120hz monitor to see 120 FPS
I am clueless about monitors so thanks for any help. Also if anyone knows of a 1080p monitor that can show 120 FPS please leave a link.
Thanks!

Solution
Hz gives you more frame and helps reduce how much you notice tearing. Low response times reduce motion blur. Low response time and Lightboost/G-sync UMLB mode/Other backlight strobing reduces motion blur and persistence for the least amount of blur.
You can barely tell the difference between response times less than 5ms (unless you are superman). However, the refresh rate (Hz) of the monitor is a bit more important. The more Hz the better because it will keep you from having to use Vsync due to screen tearing. Most games won't run faster than 60fps, but for some older games like team fortress 2 you may want a monitor with a higher refresh rate because tf2 can reach fps's higher than 60fps on high end rigs. Hope this makes sense 😀

So having more hz solves screen tearing and ms make it so you can see more FPS.

Low response times (under 5ms) can also look unnatural for some because it can appear to be movinge faster than it should. I know that it affects me personally because it looks like everything onscreen is being fast-forwarded. Just keep this in mind when you purchase a monitor.

I've never heard of anyone finding low response times as unnatural, but I have heard people who felt that way about strobing backlighting, light Lightboost and UMLB does.

Its not common, but for some people it just looks a bit off. I can handle it, but it just looks a bit weird to me.
