I just got an HP monitor like 40 minutes ago and since i plugged it in to my computer with a DVI cable, it's been saying there is no signal for DVI and also says Check Video Cable after a few seconds. I'm not sure what's wrong. I'm using the same DVI cable I was given when the guy i bought the monitor from showed me the monitor works. I've also tried with 2 other DVI cables. i tried plugging the DVI cable into my gpu and motherboard

Solution
Maybe there is an input or source select button on it, see if you can set it to DVI.

Another likely possibility is that the pc or the display is analog dvi (called dvi-a) while the other end can only uses digital dvi (dvi-d)

Whats the model# of the monitor?
