So I've been using this dell U2711 for nearly 4 years and suddenly today it has what seemed to be liquid coming from the inside along the edge. I let the computer sleep and went out for about an hour or so, when I came back and turned it on the monitor was back to normal. I'm not sure what happened, I have the picture attached below. Could it be overheating?

I was running Maya the whole day for work with no problem. I played game (witcher 3) for about an hour, then I noticed the issue.

Don't know what causes that. The replacement main board for the U2311H can be found for less than $35. There were 9 capacitors to replace on my power board, excluding (always exclude) the huge 450v cap that looked bad from dust settling from above. The worst part is removing the lead-free solder. Soldering gun + hot or cold de-soldering gun works OK. Some excellent pictures on variations of soldering can be found eventually but I lost the reference.
