I'm shopping for a new monitor. Curved screen is a must. Here's my system specs

I5 8500
16gb Ram
Gtx 1660
27" 1089p 60hz led

I don't really want to drop to 24" for better ppi so I'm looking at a 1440p 27" but I'm not sure my system can push 1440p 144hz very well. From my reading I can probably do it on the desktop but I'd need to set games to lower resolutions or 1080p

Budget is 400usd or less.

Solution
Certainly a more entry level card for 1440p, but it really depends on the games you are playing.

Your requirements don't really need $400, plenty of sub $300 panels.

MSI, has a nicer stand lower response time:

Even a few 32" class to pick from.

If you go for the cheap one, sell the 1660 and upgrade the GPU? RTX2070 Super is my current recommendation for 1440p.

The system does mixed usage. Web browsing, movie watching, games, mostly builders like Cities: Skylines, turn based stuff, deus Ex franchise is the beefiest fps it's ever run.
