Question Monitor turns off for about 3 second when using a DisplayPort

I have an ASUS Gaming TUF VG249Q monitor with a gtx 1050 TI gpu and a 550W power supply ( dont know the exact model). While using a DisplayPort and running the monitor in 144hz ,it keeps turning off for about 3 seconds then back on while gaming (i have noticed it tends to do it more when theres more stuff on the screen). Using a HDMI at 120hz gets rid of the problem completely. My friend tried using the same DisplayPort cable with his Dell S2419HGF monitor and a gtx 2060 and a 700W power supply and it worked perfectly fine .
What could be causing this problem and is there any way i can fix it ?

The displayport cable you got is not stable enough.

When there is more stuff on the screen, the transmission (between the GPU and monitor) requires more bandwidth, but your cable can't carry these, such cause blank screen.

Get a better displayport cable may solve your issue.

But then how come it works perfectly for my friend ?
