Hi! So i've been thinking about upgrading to this monitor
(https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA7BB3UW7057&cm_re=aoc-_-24-160-275-_-Product)
As you can see its a 75hz panel. I've been doing some research and people have said that if your running for example a 144hz monitor and don't get 144fps you will notice tearing, Well if i get a 75hz monitor and i only get 60 fps will i notice tearing? As my monitor is refreshing more then what my graphics card is displaying? And if i do notice tearing could i just throw on AMD freesync and have it set to 60fps and not worry about tearing? Thanks :)

Solution
Monitors tend to tear when above or below the refresh rate of your monitor, so yes at 60fps with a monitor running at 75hz you may notice some tearing,

If you have an AMD card that supports freesync it will eliminate tearing at any framerate within the freesync range of the monitor. Freesync is variable refresh rate technology. So for example if you are running a game at say 62fps with freesync on the monitor will run at 62hz thus eliminating tearing.

So if the monitor has freesync, As long as i have freesync enabled i should not notice any tearing and should have smooth gameplay. Also what if the graphics card renders over 75 fps, Will it just adjust the monitor to 75 fps and lock it there? Thanks!

Yes. If you go over 75fps with freesync it may still tear, freesync will not lock the framerate to 75fps. To lock the game to 75fps you can use something like riva tuner, an in game fps cap if it has one, or use vsync with freesync.

Okay thank you so much!
