Monitor was working, now black screen

So I came home from work yesterday and I had my monitors in standby. I sat down and woke them up and they showed my desktop, then the screens just went black. I checked the video card to see if it was seated correctly, checked the cable connections (both are DVI connections that allow the monitors to run at 120Hz) and all was secure. I tried just using a single monitor, nothing so then I tried an old monitor I haven't used in a year or so, and still nothing. I take it down to a PC repair place in town, and they hook up to one of their monitors, and BAM it boots up with no issues.

It's weird because the monitors also have component and HDMI inputs, I don't have anything in that room to use HDMI with, but I did order some cables to check the issue, plus it's about time to have some more flexibility. Anyways the component input DOES work (via Xbox 360) So I am trying to figure out what exactly would be the issue since it doesn't seem to be my Video card since it worked at the shop, but it seems strange that 2 monitors would stop working at the EXACT same time. plus my old monitor wouldn't work either.

I have an Nvidia GTX 670 with 2 Asus VG236h monitors (again both via DVI) Another thing that is weird is that I don't get any signal during the POST either, so it's not just a windows driver. (I think)

Any help would be aweomse!

Sounds like it could be the cables , it would have been good to bring the cables with you to the repair shop. Of course it's really odd for two cables to not work at the same time. If you could get your hands on another cable to test that would help or just wait for the new cables to arrive.
The monitors do work with the component connected to the xbox ?
What did you order for cables ?

I have tried different cables, and no result. I have tried DVI-D and DVI-I cables as well as an HDMI cable and an HDMI to DVI cable and none have worked. I have tried another monitor that I KNOW works but again no luck. I should also clarify that I didn't take my monitors to the shop to get looked at as I thought (and still not positive it isn't) either the motherboard or GPU.

However as I mentioned in my original post the monitor they used at the shop connected with no issues. Hell I've even tried moving my computer and monitors to different rooms just to try different sockets for power as I am at a complete loss as to what to do.

And yes the xbox works fine on the monitors via component cables.

Well I've manually switched the sources whenever I've tried to use a different port and no result. The thing that really gets me though is that I've tried 2 other monitors that I KNOW work and no result.

I am thinking it has to be something with the video card, or somehow the motherboard has a short or something somewhere that isn't allowing the signal to be read, but since it worked the local repair place I guess the real question is What is different besides the monitors I used here and what he used there?

This is the first computer issue that has had me REALLY pulling my hair out since in the past I've been able to (fairly) easily figure out the problem and go from there....not this time.

You said that you have a GTX 670 and are there video connectors on the motherboard itself and when you went to the repair shop did they connect to the video card or the motherboard ? If you have intergrated graphics that was previously turned of and somehow got turned on , that would cancel the video card and set the motherboard as priority.

No, there is no intergrated graphics on the motherboard, this is one of the few times I had actually wished I had them :/

Well I took my PC back into the shop just because, and it turns out I had some bad RAM that was causing the system not to boot, so this is now solved! Thanks for the help though inzone!
