Monitor Will Not Display Whole Screen

i recently built a computer using a gtx 970 and hooked it up to an old 32 inch 720 tv i had in my house. It does not display my whole screen. I'm missing about half the task bar off the bottom and the same amount on the top. also a little bit more on the sides. I changed resolutions and there are no settings on my tv i haven't explored. any help would be appreciated. unfortunately i cant give the model it is a rather old sharp tv. is there any fix? do i need to give the 130$ for a new monitor because i dont really have the money.

I do not own an nvidia card but I think the process is similar to amd. In nvidia control panel, look for something called similar to overscan. Found this for you good luck!
