[SOLVED] Monitor won't shutdown/sleep at set time

I usually set my monitor to shut off or sleep after 20 minutes in the windows power management settings. The one where you can choose when to put your computer in sleep mode and when the display shuts off. It worked fine just a day or so ago.

It won't shut off anymore. I have tried putting turning the power off on the monitor. Restarting the PC and even shutting it down. I even tried unplugging the display port cable from the GPU, with my PC shutdown.


Nothing seems to have worked.

I have had this happen with other PC's but it always started working again after a while.

Anyone know a way to fix this?

Windows 10 64 bit Home
R7 3700X
16GB DDR4 RAM
GPU MSI RTX 2070 Super

Motherboard is a ASUS X570 TUF Gaming Plus. The without Wifi. My monitor is a ViewSonic VP2468.

After digging around online I found an answer. It seems like plugging joysticks and controllers into one of the US slots will keep the monitor from shutting down.
