Monitor won't wake up from standby!

My monitor goes into stanby after 15 minutes or so, and recently doesn't wake back up when I move my mouse.

I've disabled all screensavers and power saving but it still goes into an irretrievable rest mode.

Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this??

What monitor is it?
Does the monitor go into standby if the computer is in use?
Have you dissabled the power saving in software and Bios?
can you try the monitor on a diffrent PC?

Had similar problems (Win '98, TNT2 Ultra, Samsung 17glsi).

The fault with my system is not the monitor, it is either video drivers or Windows itself.

Test whether the monitor is at fault.

Switch it off then on, it should wake fully if it has a video feed.

Repeatedly press ctrl>alt>del, does the machine reset? If not the system has frozen.

I am almost 100% sure you can avoid this by tweaking the power saving modes in the BIOS!
