Hello again Tom'shardware, I built a PC with help from some dudes on here a couple of months ago. It works good so far, only real annoyance was that it was built with a new MOBO that really dosen't like non windows 10 versions of windows. I didn't know about those compatability issues, but whatever that's fine.
I'm back to get help picking out a graphics card. I want it to do games on detailed settings with smooth fps. My monitor will do 1080p, but I run it on 720p because it looks better to me. I've got 350.00 dollars. I mostly play older games anyway. Age of empires 2, 3, myth. Minecraft, seven days to die. But I want to play some stuff a little more intensive like space engineers. At the moment my build won't even run terraria with its integrated graphics. Super laggy.
I don't know how to pick for compatability with my MOBO or whatever that's a thing.

The red graphics card on the front page of this site looks neat.
AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB

My specs.

I would suggest the RX 580 8GB as its nice. BUT if you have a G-Sync monitor then get an 1060 6GB card. (both are just about the same performance and price.

like here is a nice place to check. sale on for the Gigabyte RX 580 standard card (not Overclocked) for just over $200 (USD)

https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%20601205646%20601296377%20600358543%20600494828%204814&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=36

I have an ASUS ROG RX 580 O8G OC edition.. (at the time it was less then $300 and not as many choices out there) it has 3 fans. but it works great for me.. (its almost $370 now.. so I would get a cheaper one myself like https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202280&ignorebbr=1 that one.. good reviews and has the extra back-plate to keep things from bending over time..

Edit.. you should be good with either OR as long as you do not overclock your CPU.. if you overclock the CPU you may need a bigger power supply..

Edit #2: it may be in your best interest to wait until after November 15th as the RX 590 comes out.. maybe the others will get a price cut.. but for me at lease I would wait until black Friday / cyber Monday (if you can)..

Hey Doctor Rob, I might can do the third card you posted. It's a bit of a deal it looks like. Is there any way to tell how much power it draws or whatever? My power supply is 450w I think.

For 1080p gaming with a Ryzen 3, I'd stick with a 1060 or 580 at most. A balanced system is what you're after. Dropping a overly large amount of money on just the videocard won't do much for you.

Your power supply seems to have one 6+2 pin pci-e connector. So stick to cards which only require one. Your power supply is a Corsair budget 450W PSU, so try to choose from cards which have less than 500W requirements. Those requirements are not meant to be taken literally, but it's still a good idea not to push that power supply too hard.
