hi,

my lousy case has 2 crappy 12cm intake fans connected to PSU and 1 didn't work from day 1🧀..........pc still cool as I don't play games

so if i buy 2 new 4-pin 12cm intake fans to connect to motherboard ...........they will spin slower than a single fan so they will last longer ?

many thanks 😀

Solution
many thanks .......so fan airflow more important or fan air pressure ?

i saw some 12cm fans have higher air pressure but lower airflow compared to 14cm fans...........
It depends. If you're mounting the fan against a heat sink or similar, you need a high pressure fan for it to be effective. Otherwise for case mounted fans, higher air flow fans are usually fine.

also, CoolerMaster (rifle bearing) fans have better specs than Arctic fans (fluid dynamics)........so which brand will likely last longer ?
It doesn't matter as long as it's not a sleeve bearing fan.
The mobo does not even try to calculate fan air flow capacity, etc. For the SYS_FAN or CHA_FAN mobo headers that the CASE VENT fans should be plugged into, it only monitors the TEMPERATURE of a sensor on the mobo and alters the fan speeds to keep that temp where it should be. So yes, IF your new fans actually do provide more air flow, the mobo MAY slow them both down just a little - NOT nearly cut them to half speed.

If you want to have slower spinning fans, you need to make sure the new fans have a higher CFM rating for the same RPM than the fans already in the case.

so slow only a little ..........so i could do with 1 x 14cm intake fan instead of 2 x 12cm then since i don't play games at all ?
