I remember when Microsoft got too big for their boots and the US Govt threatened to break them up.. maybe its time for the Federal regulators to look at the anti competitive practices of apple.[/citation]

Apple does not produce anything! They just put toghether pieces of hardware from others. Look at ifix site what components are in iphon5. And lap-tops... there was years ago (when they start to use intel cpu) a picture on internet with how much they ask for free software (macos is based on freebsd) since the hardware inside was identical to other lap-tops and the price was 4 time over!

I don't think their is going to be a worldwide ban on the iphone5, since the trial isn't till 2014 and by that time the iphone5 will be out of production.

Apple dosent give a shit about this. Worst case scenario is they pay up, best case scenario, they drag this for 2 years while iphone 5 keeps selling, then they dont pay up.
In fact, most ppl that buy iphones dont even know what PC vs Mac means, they just buy it cus "its what all the cool kids are doing".

I was in a marketing course not long ago, and the teacher told us that Apple makes products that specify social status, since their equipment is simply more expensive than other.
So only people who are rich (or want to appear rich) would throw away cash like that on a product that is significantly worse.

We have numerous highly advanced materials and means of production (in abundance no less) that were patented 16 years ago and never made it to the market because what companies usually do with those types of technologies is that they shelve them and continue milking existing technologies as much as possible.
Its disgusting and keeps us in technological infancy all for the sake of 'profits'
