More powerful GPU or CPU?

Would you rather get:

An AMD CPU with the GTX 1080
or
An I7 6700K and a GTX 1070?

I have no idea which one to do. Seems like I will have to make a trade off either way.

Disconnect everything except CPU, ram and try again.(plug the monitor to the integrated graphics)

What about this? I already have the PSU from my current build. Just found a 240GB SanDisk SSD in my drawer as well:

You need a Z chipset MB in order to overclock. otherwise, just get the 6700 non-K.
The CX PSUa are of poor quality. Such a great build deserves better.
A better CPU cooler.
I trust EVGA alot more than Zotac, and this GPu also has a higher factory overclock.

What on earth were you thinking? Wasn't i clear enough? You saved what? 2 pounds?
That being said, ha you tried stripping the build down and booting wioth just the basics?(this is teh 3rd time i'm asking)

I've only heard good things about the graphics card. The power supply is from my old computer which is why I was going to use it. I didn't see a problem as even under load it should only use 430W.
Is there actually a problem with the comparability of the parts?

No I haven't yet as I'm not home.
