Question More ram size or ram speed ?

I mainly do designs on Blender and I recently experienced a time where I maxed out the ram storage (16 in dual channel) because of the amount of rendering which never had happen before . So do i add more ram like (32) or buy a faster ram speed like 3400 or above ?


My config. :

Processor ryzen : 2600
ram : 16gb corsair 2600
gpu : msi gtx1050ti
storage : 125 gb ssd & 2tb hdd
PSU : 450 watt

Faster RAM isn't going to do anything regarding maxing out your RAM storage.
I would go to 32 GB.

What is your motherboard? The ryzen 2600 has a max 2933Mhz ram speed so i would look at a kit of 3000Mhz cl 14 2x16GB.

You also need to check the motherboards QVL to make sure the ram works with the board.

No misinformation please, 2nd gen Ryzen doesn't have 2933MHz limit, can run at any speed MB and it's BIOS allow. Only possible problem with RAM faster than 3000-3200MHz may be if both IMC channels (4 memory slots) are used, 2x16GB should run at higher speeds without problem.

The speed of the RAM isn't going to really affect whether or not your maxing out your ram. The solution for that issue would be to get more RAM as others have said . Another 16GB should do fine.
