Hi, so I recently built a pc from an old dell Optiplex 3020 I got off of eBay and heavily upgraded, this of course started to make my computer break and not be able to run any games without a crash at some time.

My Specs:
Intel Core i7-4770k
Stock Optiplex Motherboard
EVGA GTX 970 SC
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
128GB Integral SSD
500GB WD HDD (this is where all my games are)
CX500 PSU

For Example GTA 5
When I run it in safe mode I can get past the heist and I can start the Franklin Mission with Lamar, I can drive to around the Movie Theatre-Where they mention the Union Depo
Any Help Would Be Appreciated, not to mention I can run before it crashes at normal 120 fps

If it has ANY green on the label, you either bought it used or it has sat on a shelf for like 5 years. The green-labeled CXM was discontinued in 2015 when the grey label models replaced it. Try to return it if possible.

The PSU either is not working properly or it the poor quality just isn't sufficient for a 970.

The updated grey label corsair CX PSUs are much stronger than the old ones.

This CX550 (non-modular) is 51 after rebate or 71 without rebate.

This CXM550 is $70. It is slightly older than the CX non-modular, but still far newer and far superior to the green label CX PSUs.

I have tried a GTX970 on my grey label Corsair CX550m and it works fine.

I found the CX550 on Amazon for £51.22 but I won’t be able to order it until the end of the month because I have an old i5 4570 I upgraded from to sell because I have no use for it anymore

I will see how it goes and put it on here,
Thanks both of you for helping me
