RTX 4090 came out 7.5 months ago. So, your question can't be answered. Ask the same question in 5-10 years for an answer.

Also, all the power connector melting issues have come down to user error.

I don't think that any one brand is better than any other in that respect. Just get whatever is least expensive and/or most available.

For me it came down to aesthetics... I went with the Gigabyte Aero because it was white.

To say that it was unexpected would be a massive understatement.

Kinda makes me wonder what other dead brand-names will come back...

I have a BFG Geforce GTX 285, though I think the art on mine is different, have to check later. "Lifetime Warranty" sure has paid off...I guess it still works, so I can't complain on that front.

Yeah, I think there was some miscommunication at some point.

600W power connector, better make sure it can handle that much, and they all went way overboard and then Nvidia locked the BIOS down pretty hard.

I would get the card that has the best noise to performance cooling and the most solid not wobbly bracket (the one that attaches to the chassis). I've been unable to find a comparison between the bracket quality, so you'd have to search for screenshots of various GPUs for that.
