mother board exploded

i just got my mother board and had it all hooked up to test it all i had plugged in was the cpu and cpu cooler ram and power supply. when i turned it on one of the little chips just sorta exploded and then every thing just shut off my mother board was defected and i sent it back to get a new one. my question is will my cpu and ram be ok?

What is the brand and model of your PSU?
Was the motherboard mounted on standoffs or raised bumps in your case, and was there a standoff installed only where there was a mounting hole? The effect you describe may have been caused by a short circuit or other power problem, so it is hard to know if other parts weren't damaged.

it is a thermal take power supply. and i had every thing mounted correctly.

Which model of Thermaltake? Unfortunately, it is very hard to know if anything else was damaged until your replacement mobo arrives.
