Yeah - you can run any speed (that the RAM sticks themselves support) UP TO 2133. So if you bought slower DDR4, it would work at the max speed for the RAM sticks. And if you bought faster DDR4, it would sorta be a waste. I think there is a chance XMP profiles may be able to goose some speeds above what the MoBo technically supports, but its not a sure thing, and probably a lot more headache than you want.
