Motherboard and cooler compatibility

Hi, I’m building my very first pc and have came across a issue. When I was installing my hyper 212 eco from cooler master on my z270-a pro from msi, the bracket to hold down the cooler was to high, the screws were not able to go down. I just need to know if this is not the correct cooler for my motherboard or something I am not doing right

It is compatible. If it does not fit, you are doing something wrong.
