Pls I ve a hp 2000 notebook pc with an intel HM75 chipset on the motherboard and an intel core i3 2.4GHz processor. I want to replace my motherboard cos is bad and also upgrade my processor to core i7 3.3GHz. Would this be possible on any hp 2000 motherboard replacement or would I also need to consider the intel chipset on the MB.

Is that the actual spare part number (post was modified to exclude it for some unknown reason)? In any case, going through this manual shows a bunch of different spare part numbers that will let you use different processors.

Please note: Changing the motherboard will make Windows complain; you'll have to contact either HP or Microsoft to help you through that. You can, if you like, install a linux distro like Ubuntu...
How much do you pay the MB and the i7? Also you will need the new OS too. Keep in mind you need to buy the same model MB, otherwise the MB will have problem to fit into the hp 2000 notebook case.

Do you consider to buy the whole new laptop?
