Question Motherboard Backing plate

Hi there,
I have LGA 1155 motherboard (core I5 2500K) and i removed an old water cooler with radiator thats not working anymore.
there is a plastic backing plate on the back of the board that seems hard to remove,do some of these plates have adhesive?
any advice on how to remove it is much appreciated.

I will send a link for the cooler i have ordered,its basically a retro pc build in a new case,
the plate has small metal screw threads that are too small to insert a standard or other coolers,so im quite sure i need to remove it to properly expose the holes in board.

Do you have the new cooler already?

As far as removing, just use a plastic pry device, like used for laptop and cell phone repair. Just be gentle and take your time.

Only pry against PCB, nothing attached to the motherboard. Should pop off.

No im picking it up later today,i just removed the metal threaded inserts in the plate to open up the holes,i will try mounting the cooler later today.

Once you have, verify that the backplate isn't needed. I updated my previous post with info to remove.

I fitted the cooler without removing the backing plate,the plastic pins for the cooler seem to fit well and secure.
