Motherboard/bios problem?

Hello, I have just built a new pc using an ASUS M5A78L-M mobo and have a 1.5TB sata hdd and and a sata dvd writer but can't load an OS because it wont recognize either drive...??

So what happens when you put the Windows dvd in the dvd drive and start up the computer? Tell us what screens you get.
