motherboard compatibility website

Hi all, is there a website which details what components are compatible with different motherboards?. I'm upgrading my graphics card and cpu and want to make sure of the comparibility. Thx.

PCPartPicker.com does a decent job. But it does miss things. Best way is to look up the specs on the motherboard that you want to buy, check with graphics card to make sure PCIe lanes are sufficient, make sure the power supply is sufficient to run the graphics card and rest of the system, and finally, make sure the case is big enough to house the motherboard, graphics card(s), and anything else you want to put in.

I have a gigabyte ga-z68x-ud5-b3 motherboard. Looking at a geforce gtx 780 3g and a i5 series cpu. Partpicker says cpu and motherboard r ibcompatible.

The 780 is fine (as long as your PSU can handle it, suggest at least a 600 watt with 42 AMPs on the 12 volt rail) and for CPUs, here's the mobo support list:

you can't go with an I5-3570K or I5-4670K
You can go with the I5-2500k
and the 780 will fit perfectly

For gaming, go with an Intel Core i5-3570K instead. Give your BIOS and update before installing it.

Would I still see the benefit of the GPU upgrade without the CPU upgrade to what u suggested?

Yes I currently have the i7-2600.

I was going to upgrade GPU and CPU.
