Hi everybody,

Apologies if the topic is repetitive and if it looks like I don't know what I am talking about, because most of the time I don't. :) I am not a computer expert, so bear with me.

So, I am building a new rig (with the exception of GPU) and I paired up motherboard and CPU. Looked through the specs, everything seems compatible except for one thing, and it has to do with GPU frequency. I chose to pair up Gigabyte H310M DS2 with INTEL Core i5-9400F, but when I check CPU support list for the motherboard it says, or so I understood, that there is no support for GPU frequency (at the top of the list it says in red letters N/A = Not support and GPU frequency column for the CPU is N/A)? I do not know what that means. Will it affect my GPU performance in any way? Btw, the GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Link with CPU support list for the motherboard provided below.

Also, on some website, I got this warning when I paired up the MB and the CPU:
  • Warning! Some Intel H310 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions
The official motherboard specs clearly state it supports 9th gen CPUs but this warning worries me. Could be bogus though.

Yes, the MB will support the i5 9400F, if the MB has the F13 version BIOS. Here is the cpu support list: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/H310M-DS2-rev-10#support-cpu
That means if the MB does not have the F13 version BIOS, the MB will not support the 9400F, in this case, you will need other cpu to update the BIOS first.

So if you can let the shop to update the BIOS for you, if the MB does not have the F13 version BIOS, then you buy it, otherwise buy other MB can support the 9400F out off the BOX.

And the cpu does not have iGPU so that you have to buy a GPU for your PC.

Thank you for the answer. It makes much more sense now.
