Question Motherboard doesn’t have 24 pin slot

I was replacing my graphics card and needed a new power supply but my motherboard doesn’t have a 24 pin slot for the new power supply i bought. What do I do?

That's because the motherboard's power input is proprietary. You're going to need a custom made harness/adapter for you to work with an off the shelf ATX power supply and that HP prebuilt.

Not much alot of prebuilts use proprietary power supplys using a cable to modify it might work but it will more likely damage the computer.

Plenty of the off the shelf adapters for this very reason. Just need to know the exact motherboard to make a recommendation.

I have made my own adapter for a Dell in the past, but it does take some patience and having the right tools and mindset. Or you can spend like $15 on an adapter, often slow shipped from China. Or pay a small premium and get them from websites like moddiy.com
