Hi,

Here is my pc specs:

Basically, I have been getting low fps in games and it came to me that I don't think I ever put the cd in to install the motherboard driver. However, I'm not sure and was wondering if someone can tell me how to check my driver date for my motherboard? I checked in device manager and under computer I found something called ACPI x64 Based PC which had a driver date of 2006, could that be my motherboard?

Anyways, is it possible for someone to give me the direct link to the latest motherboard driver download? I looked on ASUS site and saw audio/network drivers and stuff but no motherboard.

Thank you.

I sent you the link

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97/HelpDesk_Download/

from here you can download the stuff like LAN,CHIPSET,USB, and etc.

Oh, I see. I thought the motherboard had drivers itself, I already updated the sound, etc. then so I guess I'm good. Thanks lol.

I guess my system isn't good enough then for some games.

Oh yes thank you, but what is chipset driver under? I can't find it. And is there a way to check my chipset driver version so I know that I'm not installing the same one again? Also is that ACPI x64 thing I found under computer in device manager which had a date from 2006 the chipset?

Where are you seeing that? I can't for the life of me find out where it is on the site lol.

I don't see chipset anywhere.

All I see is qualified vendor list, bios, bios utilities, audio, lan, utilities, and manual

Yeah, I already have the updated ones straight from AMD site though.

Oh yeah looks like if you are using Windows 8 you don't have it...But its not that important download the other stuff....

I remember downloading the audio and lan drivers already, however, why don't I have the chipset? Would that be on the CD the mobo came with?

Actually, can't I just download the ones from what you mentioned since it says compatible wwith windows 8, I'm on windows 8.1 but people say it will work with 8.1 too. And I remember that I never put the cd in that came with the mobo. So the AHCI x64 based PC thing under device manager is indeed my mobo driver date?

EDIT: Ok, so I tried installing that, and then ran an application called ASUSsetup the ATI catalyst installer popped up, isn't that only for the video card? My video card is already updated so I got scared and exited.
