Motherboard extra connector

Im thinking of building a new pc and I want to use the mag z390 tomhawk by msi for a i5 9th gen. The issue is that the cpu connector is the normal 8pin, but the board also has another 4pin. Would i need to use the additional connector?

8 pin should be able to run the setup just fine.

Thats what I thought since the cpu has the same tdp of 95W as the 8th gens.
