Hey guys, I'm gonna be be ordering components for my first gaming PC soon and was wondering which of these two motherboards would be best:

  • Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 Socket 1150 HDMI 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

Here are the rest of the components I plan to buy:

Storage: Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£79.95 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card (£139.98 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case (£72.48 @ Aria PC)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£37.98 @ Scan.co.uk)

Solution
Either will do the job, if you can get a H97 board cheaper I would and get a better PSU for the price difference since you are light with the EVGA500 and I would suggest XFX 550 which is a quality unit.

Thanks for the help. Im on a bit of a budget so I'll stick to the Asrock motherboard but I'll pick up the 550w instead of the 500w PSU

That's a great idea as it will give you a little bit of upgrade room haha.
