Motherboard for lots of RAM

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions around a good and cheap motherboard for my existing core2 quad CPU. I find myself doing a lot of work with VMWare and basically want to find a system that lets me use cheap 2Gb DDR RAM to get to 24GB or greater. My current motherboard can get to 16GB using 4GB DDR RAM but the price to do this is stupid.

Sorry for the confusion.....excuse my ignorance on the RAM mentioned

Basically looking for a motherboard that can utalise 2GB RAM modules to get to larger total RAM Capacity.....regardless of type...given the price difference between 2GB and 4GB modules.
