I purchased Asus Strix motherboard from a popular online store. The motherboard came only in original box wrapped in plastic bag, no another box, no padding to protect the item.
I know how boxes are tossed at shipping companies.
What are the chances the mobo is 100% functional?
Thanks

There's no visible damage, but trowing the motherboard around could potentially damage it, even without visible damage.
I don't know, all other parts were shipped in some sort of protection, while motherboard being the most fragile came without any.
It might damage it but then it would even if the motherboard box were boxed up inside another box. Think about it: the only cushioning the motherboard itself has is the cushioning inside the retail box.

If you don't think that matters: put an egg inside a jar and then securely package the jar inside a box, with good packing. Toss it about and open...yes, the egg will be broken even though the jar isn't if you packed it carefully in the box. Now repeat only securely cushion the egg...
The motherboard lies in a cardboard inside the box which doesn't really give any padding aside from the edges of the motherboard.
Have you examined it? any damage should be quite obvious on the edges of the board.

But if the external packaging itself is not penetrated or crushed it's not likely handling damaged the board any worse than it would if it were shipped a box within a box. Also, shippers don't generally accept liability unless the outer box is damaged with a penetration of some sort.

That's why shipping companies don't accept liability unless the outer box shows damage.
