[SOLVED] Motherboard Internet / Ethernet light flashing when pc is off

I recently noticed that my pc's connection was set to public, after switching it to private (since this is a private network anyways) whenever I turn my pc off there's an orange light flashing next to my ethernet port. I have a bedroom setup so this light is very very anoying when I'm trying to go to sleep.

Anyone have an idea how to turn it off?

That is likely the network activity indicator. It will always flash when connected.

You could simply cover the LED with a small piece of black, electrical tape.

Several layers of marking from a permanent marker (like a black Sharpie) would likely do the trick as well.
