Motherboard is burning

Hello,
Having high temperatures of motherboard on monitors and have no idea what can be wrong.
Motherboard is asus h81m-plus, even after flashing bios i have motherboard temperatures on idle over 100C, temperature are the same on stress load aswell...
What could be wrong?

No the MB is just cheap and has no sensors to monitor the temps of the MB. If his MB was actually getting that hot his computer wouldn't even be turning on. It's faulty reading from the software he uses. I have seen it a million times. That's why I told him to do the touch test cause if it is that hot he won't be...

yes i have tested it on the picture above, but i have same issues on idle here is idle temps:


Also speccy shows 28C whatever i do...
Also i have used new parts to build this pc, and updated to latest version BIOS because i had same issues with 2104 version
I dont know if it safe to start OC or not

Check the temps in the bios and not through software. I have seen many times faulty temps being giving out cause the software is picking up the wrong sensor or no sensor at all and giving out faulty temps that are not really even existing. What I mean by checking temps in the bios is when you start up your computer you will see your motherboards logo. Press whatever button it tells you to enter the bios and see what temp it's reporting in their.

Ok if you can't find it in the BIOS then just download Asus AI Suite 3 and it should give you all the correct temps. I think it's a faulty reading cause if your MB was getting that hot your computer would be shot already.

I'm using an ASUS Z77 Sabertooth MB and I'm able to find all my temps in the BIOS with ease. If you are unable to find those temps in the Bios and your sure it's nowhere to be found then that tells me your motherboard has no sensors to monitor the temps of the motherboard. Meaning those temps you are seeing are faulty. Shut down your computer and open the side of your case and do a touch test and see if its way too hot to touch. If it feels just warm and you can hold your hand there then it's a faulty reading.

Well that MB is not really meant for gaming. MB made for gaming will give you the temps of everything and overclocking potential. You can still probably overclock in that MB depending on your CPU.

Lol, dude your motherboard heat sensors are fried. That's what happens to boards pushed past their limits I would not use that motherboard as you risk damaging components. And if you continue to use it I would do a slight down clock... I mean do you have any idea how much heat it takes to fry a temp sensor??? My god man...

Main reason I say board is bad BIOS SAYS IT CANNOT DETECT MOTHERBOARD TEMPS.... need I say more?

Well my cooler takes more space than this motherboard.. well i have tried my best to check, and it wasnt even warm. So thanks for your help, at least i know i wont burn my house down.

Lol dude every motherboard ever made has a heat sensor built into it if the BIOS cannot pick up that sensor then the board is faulty. Does not matter what software he uses that software is probably just giving out false readings. Infact I bet its just guessing the Motherboard temp and not even detecting anything other than the CPU temps or GPU temps.

Not all MB's have sensors to monitor the temps on the MB itself. Yes what he is seeing is faulty because there is no sensor or probe on the MB he has. This "heat sensor" your talking about........ are you referring to the probe in the CPU socket that a lot of cheaper boards have? All MB's have this cause it's a fail safe in case your CPU overheats it will just shut down your computer to prevent damage.

You cannot rely on any third party application for your temps, you have to double-check them.

Lots of Apps just detect that Nuvo chip whatever and attempt to read all the sensors what "it thinks" it's attached to the chip, not taking into consideration those sensors may not be in use at all, so you are looking at FAKE readings. Be logical, almost nothing can shoot up to 100c almost instantly, you will notice it reads that right after you boot up, maybe except the CPU itself.

For those of you who are into temps, just buy one of those IR thermometer guns, your Dad may have one, they are not that expensive, and prove to yourself whether your Mobo is really at 100c.
