Motherboard LED Not on. NEW BUILD

My brother and I just build a new computer. The LED light on the motherboard does not turn on when set up. I know its not the power supply because we tested it out with the paper clip trick and it works. My Uncle also checked all the wiring and he says everything looks good. Is the motherboard dead? What are all the reasons for the light not to turn on? I have a couple days until I can get it replaced on amazon.
