[SOLVED] Motherboard lights are on but pc doesnt turn on

Hi, I recently Bought an Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard. When I got the motherboard the power & reset buttons on the motherboard light up when the psu is plugged in but when I press the power button it makes a hissing sound & doesnt make any attempt to turn on. The DRAM_LED light also flashes for a second. After it makes the hissing sound if I keep pressing the power button the board does nothing. Ive tried different ram, 2 different working power supplies & clearing the cmos & still have the same issues. Any suggestions?

Got it, This is what im using to test the board

Intel Core i7 930
Asus P6X58D Premium Motherboard
4GB DDR3 1333mhz
Antec Sp-500 500W Power supply
AMD Radeon HD 7570 Graphics Card
No HDD's are connected

The BIOS version on the motherboard may be incompatible with your CPU. According to https://www.asus.com/me-en/Motherboards/P6X58D_Premium/HelpDesk_CPU/ you need at least Bios 0402, version 1501 is the newest available.

Is there anyway to see what bios is on the board without being able to turn it on?

Not really, I think I remember older mobos having the installed BIOS on the box or on the label but even then it was common place.

I looked at the labels on the board and one of them says 0703 on it which I assume is the bios it has on it. Guess I could try a new cpu
