Question Motherboard lost a transistor, will it impact performance ?

Hi,

I bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B760-F GAMING WIFI DDR5 motherboard on the second hand market for 250€ (i5-13400f included). The seller told me it worked perfectly.

After unpacking and assembling the PC, I noticed one micro transistor was missing (actually it was hanging, but fell as I touched it). I notice it's next to one screw hole that is scratched, so I can guess someone probably forced a screw and the screw driver slipped off and took off that transistor.

I don't have yet all the components to boot my computer and see if that has an impact on performance, I would like to know what to expect. At least that leds switch on (yellow since I don't have any DDR5 to install yet) and the RGB lights switches on.

I see other 3 similar transistors nearby, maybe thay can take on the load ? Or was that transistor critical to a particuler function ?

Does anyone knows if I can find a schematic of that board ?

Thanks for your help in advance !

You need to find (likely won't) a schematic to be 100% certain. Repair shops might be, if they are feeling generous, able to provide it.

Not worth risking your components for.

To me it looks beat and likely sold to you knowing it was damaged. I can see the screw/mount is stripped to hell too

I finally mounted the PC with all the components to test it
Apparently that MOSFET was doing something in the rear audio output, because nothing comes out of there

However I can use the front audiojack, and my USB headset works very as well. It doesn't have any impact on my screen speakers through the display port.

I'll forget that transistor, and when I feel like it I'll try to solder a new component (found the exact model on ebay) 👍

Thanks for you answers !
