Motherboard new or old

So I have elitegroup nforce6m-a and I can't use my cpu because I don't have am2+ socket I only have am2 and I have am2+ proccecor.So I looked motherboards website and and I have ver 2 so ver 3 has am2+ support so Can I update it to am2+ support or I will have to buy am2+ motherboard

See if BIOS update would do anything but you would need AM2 processor for that.
