Question Motherboard not receiving power properly

Hey Everyone,

Recently I bought a dual socket motherboard with 1 E5 2620. The motherboard model is W2600cr. I tried connecting 1 24 pin connector and 1 4 pin connector just to post and see if it works before I buy a new PSU. So, here's when something weird happens, when I put the 24 pin in, it stops working. When I put it in half way, it sorta works and the fan + led for the heatsink works fine. Keep in mind this is with the 4 pin connected.

I really don't know what to do, I have tried using 2 different psus with same results.

Issue is still persisting. Someone told me that it might be because it's only 500w and I need a 750w. Do you think that's the case?

Sorry to bump this thread, but can someone tell me if I need a PSU that has dual 12v atx plugs for these dual e5's?
