I have a Insprion 531s that's been having problems posting, it won't post, than out of nowhere it will post, than once I shunt down it fails to post till it randomly decides to post again. When it fails to post, no fan lights or beeps just like it wasn't plugged in. I packed it away for a while and decided to get it out to further troubleshoot, and sill won't post. I used a psu tester and the psu fan comes on, still no boot, I tried an extra psu I had laying around and it posted no problem with that psu, soon as I hook the orginal psu back up no post. I don't wanna buy a psu and it be the motherboard. Hear is the psu tester I used.

If it posted no problem with another PSU, I think it's crystal clear the problem is the PSU. Do you have the chance of loaning that PSU for a couple of days?? Even if not, my money lies 100% on the PSU being the source of the problem.

I'm gonna try it for a few days with the spare psu, and if it works fine than I'm gonna haft to buy a new psu as the original psu is tfx and my spare is atx.

Instead of buying a new psu, I just decided to stick the motherboard in an empty case that has a working psu. Now the problem of no I/O plate.
