I have a Gigabyte Z97MX board and I bent 1 of the pins slightly out of position on the board. I just want to know, would the computer start up if the certain pin wasn't touching the cpu?

Straighten it. Gently.
Completely unknown as to what that specific pin does.

personally, I would try to fix it, but that's me. if it's something you wouldn't want to touch then don't touch it. you don't have a lot of wiggle room there, so its not something you could do without a magnifying glass and a dental pick or something fine like that.

I have used a dressmaker's pin (long, and has a ball on the end for easy grip) and a jeweler's loupe to straighten bent LGA pins. In fact, I'll be attempting that tonight on a B85 board. I badly bobbled the CPU cover and bent pins in 2-3 different areas.

On aircraft connectors, we used to use a 0.7mm mechanical pencil over the errant pin. Gently bend it back to straight.

Right.
Either way, it should be straightened before power up.
