Hello all!

I'm looking to upgrade from my 5950x build to a 9950x3D. Both for gaming and work. (If I can get one before the scalpers sweep the stocks).

I'm struggling to decide between all of the motherboard options since there doesn't seem a "clear winner" when it comes to X870e motherboards, at least from what I've seen. (good problem to have, I suppose).

Planning on doing some OC to stretch the CPU as long as I can, and cramming a 420 aio into a mid-tower case.

I am not stingy on cost, but I'm also not stupid enough to want to shell out for the Godlike.

I looked at the Taichi, but never used ASRock before. Had good luck with both ASUS and Gigabyte, and last experience with MSI was when they didn't have a great rep and had to send two lemons back (but I know they're good anymore).

Been a conflict between the Master, Hero, and Carbon, with curiosity towards the Taichi if that helps.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Where are you located? What is your budget for your motherboard? What is your preferred site for purchase? i would avoid Asus motherboard's since they've been bad since the pandemic. ASRock have an issue with their BIOS thought they've resolved the issue. You should also be good to go with Gigabyte boards. MSI's gear has improved, since their trash days pre-pandemic.

I'm US. I don't have a budget aside from avoiding "stupidly expensive". I typically buy either straight from the manufacturer, Amazon, Newegg, or Best Buy, the usual suspects.

Good to know on ASUS. I'll probably avoid messing with BIOS issues. So that probably leaves MSI vs Gigabyte. Carbon vs Master if I understand those two are in the same class.
