hi guys can you give me a recommendation for a motherboard?
it's really confusing and i'm not sure how important it is.
my build will be

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Memory: Kingston 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

the cheaper the better as long as it doesnt affect performance or kill parts
thanks in advance!

Motherboard, CPU and GPU are most important parts for a gaming computer. You'll never want to get a wrong one, which you generally won't with Intel CPUs. Anyways, this list might help, all boards listed here are either good quality or great quality, pick your choice:

Also, I'd ditch the WD Black for Seagate Barracuda, as it costs less and has more or less the same performance. And use the money saved in getting a better PSU, your current choice is low quality, not advisible for this build. Something like XFX 550W or SeaSonic 520W are much better.

Reading some reviews showing i5 4460 has worse performance in games whereas i5 4590 was very close to tho top pack .

As expected, 1-2 FPS gains, the only game where it is noticible is Civ5. $10 more for a general gain of 1-2 FPS, doesn't sound like the best deal. Read the info after the tests, it states:
"We don’t have many tests here because the performance benefits of the Haswell Refresh series are not substantial."

I'd rather put that money on a better PSU.

Had a bad experience with Seagate. My mac Seagate HD got pwned after 6 months by seagate

My 2 cents here:

I'm currently using a 7 year old pre-built HP OEM for HTPC with the stock Seagate barracuda as the main drive, never failed, no repairs, didn't have to even take it out once. I've bought numerous other drives from Seagate, including Barracuda, Constellation ES, external drives, and they've not ditched me once, for years now. I'll get it anyday, but that's just me.
