Hi all so I have an i7-3770K and an Asus Sabertooth z77 MOBO thats been running prime 95 for about 4 hours now for a test on a 4.2 overclock. A notice just popped up and said that the motherboard was at 60C, so I opened up the thermal radar and there is just one sensor towards the SATA ports of the board that apparently tells you the temp for the whole board.

Now ALL the other temps are WAYYYYY lower than 60C the next highest reading is at 40C and that's the VCore sensor. I feCel like its wrong, I know this isnt a good test but I personally touched the mobo and theres no way its 60C

My CPU is currently at 65C

Any suggestions or thoughts? just a bad sensor?

Probably a bad sensor, but it may be excess heat coming from your GPU, is that anywhere near that sensor?

Prime 85 should NOT be causing serious HDD loading so its definitely not from the SATA chipset.

EDIT: woops, missed out a rather important not lol.

Eh not really no, Its like right where the case power, led, reset pins are, I felt around that area and its room temp.

Now its saying its NEGATIVE 60C so ya seems like a bad sensor
