OK so I've recently had to RMA my motherboard due to it dieing. From what I was told through testing it is my southbridge that has failed does anybody have an idea as to what could of caused this? It's an Asus 990fx rev 2.0 if that helps.
Thanks in advance.

Solution
a faulty southbridge chip? any overclocking applied to some parts?

problems with temperature on your case?

a bad soldiering point in it that finally gave up?

there is many reasons to see such chip die but mst times you can't do much, other than keep good airflow in that area
