I am building a computer for the first time and have run in to some troubles. I got everything plugged in and properly wired together but when I turned the computer on I was not receiving any signal on the monitor. I tried reseating the graphics card but after doing so absolutely nothing happens when I press the power button. The led on my MOBO flashes once when I flip the power switch on my PSU but nothing else happens when I try to turn it on with the power button on both the MOBO and the case.

mb and power supply wont turn on if there a dead short in the system. make sure you mb on the brass mb standoffs and not shorting to the mb tray. also make sure the io shield on the case not shorting out the mb. if your mb has onboard video pull the gpu and see if the mb has video. also check the mb to front panel wires make sure there on the right pins and the reset button not broken,

try to assemble the rig outside the case and isolate the issue by connecting one at a time then try to POST. First try with psu, mobo, cpu, gpu and thats it. Just connect the 24 pin, 8 pin, power switch and thats it. power cable to the gpu then try to POST. Im sure you just miss connecting one of the cables

Is it important that I do it outside of the case? And should I remove all of my RAM as well? And is it possible that the motherboard is just dead?

Im sorry i forgot to include RAM. Without RAM it won't POST. New built with issues its recommended to assemble it outside the case to isolate the the problem. You tried to assemble it inside the case and your having no POST.

I assembled It outside of the case and I am having the same problem. Should I RMA the MOBO?

Yes all the parts are new and compatible. I think its the motherboard because it turned on prior to me reseating the GPU, I didnt fiddle with the RAM or CPU at all before it stopped working. The Mobo light doesnt stay on either, it just flashes once when the PSU is turned on. I Rewired the entire thing so I don't think its me missing a cable.
