Thanks, dark. for the clarification. It's a sad state that no H97 boards could support above 1600hz freq. I may have to consider getting Z97 board even though I don't intend to OC CPU but just to fully utilize my 1886hz RAM and. :/

H97 also does not support SLI or Crossfire, except for x4 speeds on the second card in crossfire on some models.

why msi H97M-G43 at 2nd tier? it has M.2 and Pcie 16 at x4 speed. sata up to 6 If u doesnt use m.2. MSI have extra features in software like power saving. Im pretty sure the board have modded bios that allows overclocking(altough I wouldnt bother with it).

Asus H97M-E doesnt have Pcie 16. sata only up to 4. but of course good build quality with stainless steel backplate thing.

or Im missing something here.

My Msi gtx 970 Backplate doesnt fit, as the ram slot sits to close to the pcie. I have to remove the backplate, at least until I cut part of the backplate so it fit. what a douche. My new build will be Blue Douche.

Any chance of switching the gold text? I can see it a little bit better on my IPS panel display but if I view it on any of my older TN panels I can't really see it at all
