nope.
unless the cpu has the same socket, it wont work (upgrade).
and most boards you can still get for that cpu, might cost way more than an upgrade to new cpu/board combo.
i was thinking of getting a cheap intel 8 core, but even that it was 40$, the boards ran around 300-400$.
same as going with a brand new quad core i7...
wait until amd releases ryzen, it will be much cheaper than intel, but perform very close if not faster.
and even if you go with intel, they will still have to drop prices.
but AM4 is also better, if you think of upgrading the new cpu in 2-5y, as i see longer support than with intel.
