That is a pretty neat setup you have so far! The MSI gaming 5 does support SLI and Crossfire where the gaming 3 does not, also the over clocking for the gaming 5 is much better but since you can't overclock, you won't use it unless you decide to upgrade your CPU at a later stage (always good to have extra features) and for $30 more (checked on newegg) the winner in my opinion is the gaming 5, both motherboards does have the red in it, but if it is not enough you can always put in a red LED fan

Depends on a few things, what is your budget? What CPU are you going for? What is your preferred brand? Are you planning to over clock your CPU? Any specific theme you want your system to be?

I went with the ASUS sabertooth mark 1 1150 Z97 for my i7 4790K CPU, because I always wanted to try out a Sabertooth motherboard and the red with the ASUS ROG Z97 would not of fit my green colored theme PC

Ah ok, take a look at the following, I prefer ASUS motherboards but there is some really good motherboards out there, I believe that your CPU will fit in a 1150 socket? All of it is 100 pounds or less

cheers for that i like the look for the msi z97 gaming 5, when i tried editing the question it didnt update so the names of the ones i was looking at didnt come up but i was actually looking at the msi z97 gaming 3 and also the msi b85-g43. could you tell me what the gaming 5 has thats better than the 3? thanks. btw, just some more infomation about my soon to be build. i will be running a corsair 550w rm psu, in a corsair spec-01 case with a intel xeon 1231v3 cpu as well as a msi radeon r9 390 8 gb gpu, i hope this makes it more clear what it is i am after. im just looking for something that will take all my other parts and is good for gaming mainly. but also could be used for a bit of work, the use for work tho is very minsacule and not important as this build is going to be mainly a gaming pc build. it also be nice if it was red as red is my theme for the build. thanks
