Hi all,

I installed a new blu-ray writer in my custom built PC; after I did that, the PC wouldn't boot into the bios (or at least, wouldn't output a visual signal). I tried inputting the HDMI cable into both the integrated graphics card and into the dedicated graphics card, a Sapphire HD7970, but neither worked. After I removed the HD7970 entirely, the system would properly boot up.

What in the heck?? Is the graphics card bad? Did I accidentally shock it? Or is there something wrong with the motherboard? 3:

I also pulled out the CMOS to reset the memory and reinstalled/replaced the RAM, no dice; and I checked all power connections.

This is my motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837&cm_re=P8Z77-V_LK_Z77-_-13-131-837-_-Product
